Meet Linda Smyth
Artist Linda Smyth
Linda "LuLu" Smyth

My work has been inspired by the landscapes around me - the sublime imagery of the Adirondacks, the historic charm of a local community, or the whimsy of an animal or still-life.

I studied art at the Maryland Institute College of Art (MICA) in Baltimore, then earned my MFA from the State University of New York at Albany. From there I began teaching art, working and painting in Saratoga Springs, NY, where I had an opportunity to paint an equestrain sculpture on Broadway for "Horses Saratoga Style." More recently, I've been working to uplift the appearance of my home town of Port Henry, NY; various public projects include community murals and wayfinding signs.

My studio overlooks the ever-changing Lake Champlain, and each day I am awed again by the stunning sunrise over the Green Mountains of Vermont.

I hope you'll consider a commissioned work from me. In addition to canvas, I can paint something less traditional (I've done everything from rowboat oars to toilet seats!) Have a camp, cottage, or boathouse? A house portrait makes a wonderful gift.

I look forward to hearing from you!
